Beginning his career early in his life, his first position was in Wellington and while there took a year to study funeral directing and embalming at the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.
He was the founding President of the New Zealand Embalmers Association, and has been tutor in the Funeral Directing training programme. After he married he moved to a position in Lower Hutt and while there was very involved in community and church work and along with his devoted wife raised three children who are all married.
During this part of his life he was called to be team leader in the Erebus tragedy which handled the repatriation of all the victims. After nearly fifteen years of busy city life and work, he decided to work in the country and purchased a small funeral business in Te Puke where he lived and worked for a number of years.
It was during this time that his first wife died and although difficult gave him a first-hand experience of life from the other side. After a few years break from work Peter decided to rejoin the industry he has put so much of his life into, and joined our staff in 2009. He has remarried and both he and Margaret enjoy the relaxed retirement life style and the wonderful growing soil in Tuakau.
